I wish I could say this was my first attempt to a blog…but I’d be lying. The truth is that I love to write and have wanted my own blog for some time. So one day at work when things were pretty slow, I pulled the trigger. Ashamedly, I made one more entry and that was the end to my blogging experiment. Well, here I am again. This time it’s the real deal though. Really…I dare you to subscribe. This time around, however, I decided to go in with a purpose…to write about the lessons that the Lord continues to teach me and my family as we grow into His likeness. Since a junior high school student, I’ve journaled about all that God has done in my life….Well, it’s taken me ten months to realize that being a married, working woman doesn’t mean that I have to put aside writing. Rather, God is teaching me more than ever at this point in my life, and God-forbid I mute the testimony that He’s so graciously given to me! He has not only called me to Himself, but given me a husband to love (that I’ve loved for a loooonng time, at that), a job to work, a call to ministry, a Seminary community to learn from, friends to encourage and be encouraged by, and the greatest family I could ask for…..needless to say, this blog is here to stay! However, like I said, it’s been ten months, so give me a few mulligans. I’m super excited about this blog too because my awesome hubs, Charles, will be blogging every now and then too (after all, it’s “Smith Bits” for a reason). Not only that, but Charles is an incredible photographer (make sure you check out his link on the sidebar!), so you can expect to keep up with all that’s going on not only by reading our stuff but actually seeing what we’re up to! Also, I have become an avid food blog reader, so for the ladies, I will be posting some of my fave recipes (with photos pending how they come out…it’s not always about presentation, heh?!)! Overall, this blog is dedicated to the telling of God’s GREAT goodness in the lives of our family… hence, these are “Smith bits.”
